Put on your thickest jacket and set off to discover Rovaniemi, Santa’s official town! Surrounded by the snowy landscapes of Finnish Lapland, the town lies just 6km south of the Arctic Circle. It’s the perfect place to meet the region’s animals, such as reindeer and huskies, as well as to admire the Northern Lights. But Rovaniemi offers more than just nature, with theme parks and the “Arktikum” museum to delight young and old alike!
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rovaniemi
Arrival at Rovaniemi airport. Private transfer to your hotel. Welcome to the capital of Finnish Lapland! Get cozy in your room and enjoy your free day.
Accommodation and dinner at Santa Claus Holiday Village.
Days 2 to 4: Rovaniemi
Breakfast at the hotel. We recommend you to pre-book one of the many activities that the town can offer. Winter activities in Rovaniemi offer the possibility to see Northern Lights, go on a husky safari, go snowshoeing, enjoy the wilderness and many more!
Optional:
Husky Safari: Friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the local farm but as soon as the safari of dogs departs from the farm, the dogs quiet down and start to work. Enjoy the surrounding nature and the sledge ride in silence. Stop for a break in the wilderness and take photos. Two persons per team, but there is a possibility to change the driver along the way. The length of the trail is approx. 45-60 min and 7-10 km, as the weather conditions and the skills of the participants may affect the length of the ride.
Aurora Borealis hunting photo tour: Don’t miss the chance to capture the magic of Northern Lights! The tour takes you to different locations in Lapland providing the best chances to chase auroras. During the program your guide will take photos of you and you can also learn tips and tricks on how to set up your own camera for night photography. If you are lucky, you may see the auroras dancing in the sky, in any case you will experience a lovely night with great photos as a memory.
E-Snowmobile Safari: The journey begins in daylight with crossing the frozen lake Lehtojärvi and continues through bogs and forests. You will have chance to make nice photos during the stop on scenic view point before heading back as the daylight fades and stars light up in the sky.

Day 5: Santa Claus Village — Arctic Snow Hotel
After your breakfast, you will take a shared transfer to your next destination, the Arctic Snow Hotel. The hotel is located by a lake, 30min from the center of Rovaniemi, ideal to admire the Northern Lights. During your stay, you will enjoy a traditional dinner in a Kota.
Accommodation and dinner at Arctic Snow Hotel & Glass Igloos in a glass igloo.
Day 6: Departure from Finland
Breakfast at the hotel and shared transfer back to the airport according to your flight schedule.
