Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Bergen
Arrival in Bergen according to your itinerary. Bergen is a picturesque coastal city located in western Norway, surrounded by 7 mountains and fjords, including the famous Sognefjord. Known as the "Gateway to the Fjords," it boasts colourful wooden houses in the historic Bryggen district, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, a bustling fish market and offers easy access to stunning natural landscapes, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and tourists.

Day 2: Bergen
Breakfast at the hotel. Take the day to explore Bergen’s many natural and historical attractions. We recommend for instance a trip up Mount Fløyen, by cable car (can be added on request) or by foot for the most courageous! To get a taste of the iconic scenery that awaits you in the land of the fjords, you can also embark on a cruise exploring the fjords surrounding the city (can be added on request).

Day 3: Bergen-Balestrand
Breakfast at your hotel. Departure by ferry to Balestrand. Today, you’ll take a scenic boat road from the open waters of Bergen to the narrow Sognefjord to the charming town of Balestrand. This trip is a beautiful way to discover the fjords for the first time. Take in the immensity of the landscapes that surround you while sailing on the calm waters of majestic Sognefjord, a large a peaceful stretch of water surrounded by towering cliffs, and quiet villages nestled in its narrow branches.

Day 4: Balestrand – Flåm - Oslo
Breakfast at the hotel. The boat journey from Balestrand to Flåm is one of the most scenic experiences in Norway, taking you deep into the heart of the fjord landscape. You're surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and small farms. The route passes through narrow fjord arms, including the Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the Sognefjord. Passing through Flåm, you will continue your journey on of the most beautiful in the world, the Flåm railway, taking you up the valley to Myrdal, along the 900-metre-high steep mountain walls, offering breathtaking views of the mountainous landscape and its many waterfalls. After a quick train change in Myrdal, you’ll be on your way to Norway’s capital city. This 4-hour journey will give you a good look into the diversity of the country’s landscape.

Day 5: Oslo
The Norwegian capital is ideally situated on the banks of the Oslofjord, surrounded by arable land, lush green forests and particularly unspoilt natural areas just twenty minutes from the city centre. This day will be entirely at your disposal to discover the city's must-see places such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Royal Palace, the Munch Museum and the Opera House.

Day 6: Oslo-Åndalsnes
Breakfast at the hotel. It is time to go back to the fjords! This next train train will take you through Norway’s eastern landscape, a lush and wild area, appreciated by the locals for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer, with gentler mountain than on the west side, but still very scenic. After a quick change of train, you’ll be on another of Norway’s best known railways : the Rauma line. Connecting the inland mountain town of Dombås to Åndalsnes on the shore of the Romsdalsfjord, the Rauma line offers some of the country’s most jaw-dropping views of waterfalls, high peaks and verdant valleys. You’ll also be able to admire Trollvegen, Europe’s tallest vertical mountain wall, the famous tourist roat Trollstigen swirling up to its summit.

Day 7: Åndalsnes
Breakfast at your hotel. Åndalsnes is a small but very active town, and you’ll have the day to explore its picturesque surrounding, for instance by hiking on your own or joining a group activity such as a kayak tour (not included – can be added on request). The fjords are best experienced from the water, where their impressive heights surrounds you.

Day 8: Åndalsnes-Trondheim
Breakfast at your hotel. Departure in the morning on the Rauma line to Dombås, change of train to Trondheim. Enjoy another beautiful ride full of lush forests, rolling hills and colourful villages on your way to Norway’s third biggest city. Arriving in the afternoon, you’ll have the rest of the day to explore its famous sights, Trondheim has an urbanised city centre, but retains the warm, friendly atmosphere of a small town. Visit Nidaros Cathedral, built on the tomb of Saint Olav, the Archbishops‘ Palace, the oldest secular building in Scandinavia, Kristiansten Fortress, Trøndelag Open Air Museum and Stiftsgården: Trondheim's royal residence.

Day 9: Trondheim
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel to the airport (transfer not included) according to your flight itinerary.
Note: To get from the airport to the city centre or vice versa, we recommend that you use low CO2 emission transport such as private electric cars, local public transport, the airport shuttles “flybussen”.
