Self drive Bodø & Lofoten

Day 1: Arrival in Bodø

Upon arrival at Bodø Airport, take a transfer of your choice from the airport to the hotel (not included). The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city or relax at the hotel.

Tips : The undisputed favourite hike of the people of Bodø, offering a 360-degree view of the city and mountains.

Day 2: RIB Safari & Art Walk

Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins with a RIB boat safari to Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current, with the possibility of spotting sea eagles along the way. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the surroundings.

Day 3: Journey to Lødingen

Breakfast at the hotel. Continue your journey toward the north. Arrive at Bognes Ferjekai in Hamarøy, where you'll board the 18-703 ferry operated by Torghatten Nord AS for the crossing to Lødingen (not included, to be paid on spot). The ferry ride takes approximately 60 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding Arctic landscape. Upon arrival in Lødingen, explore the village embraced by the stunning Arctic landscape.

Day 4: Travel to Vesterålen

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will travel to Vesterålen. You will spend the night in Sortland, it’s one of the main hubs of the Vesterålen traditional region and is therefore a convenient central location for exploring the region. Additionally, the town is known around Norway for being painted blue!

Day 5: Travel to Andenes

Breakfast at the hotel. Head to Andenes! Located on the northernmost tip of the island Andøya, Andenes is a charming village that goes under the radar far too often when people road-trip in Northern Norway. It’s highly recommended to come here for the excellent hiking opportunities and you will have the opportunity to join the whale safari on a rib boat in the afternoon.

Day 6 : Andenes to Svolvær

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, continue south to the Lofoten Islands. En route, consider stopping in Stokmarknes to visit the Coastal Express Museum. Head to Svolvær, the cultural and commercial hub of the archipelago that blends small-town charm, maritime life, and a vibrant arts scene.

Day 7: Svolvær

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day at leisure in and around Svolvær. Optional activities include a RIB tour through the dramatic Trollfjord (on request, not included). Explore the harbour, galleries, and local cafés.

Day 8: Svolvær to Reine

Breakfast at the hotel. Continue your journey along the National Scenic Route south through Lofoten. A recommended stop is Nusfjord, one of Norway’s best-preserved fishing villages (entrance not included). End the day in Reine, often regarded as the most beautiful village in Lofoten.

Day 9: Reine

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure. A visit to the village of Å is highly recommended. This open-air village museum showcases original boathouses, rorbu cabins, and the old bakery, all dating back over 150 years. Optional kayaking excursions in Reine can be arranged on request (not included).

Day 10: Return to Bodø

Breakfast at the hotel. An early morning ferry takes guests back to Bodø for one final night at the Wood Hotel. A visit to the heated rooftop pool is highly recommended.

Day 11: Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport (not included) according to your itinerary.
