Tromsø & Beyond

Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø

Arrival at Tromsø Airport, transfer (not included) to the center of Tromsø, the beautiful Arctic city, and check-in at your hotel. The rich history of this city has earned it two nicknames. The first is the “Paris of the North” due to the numerous trade relations with France during the 19th century and the number of cafes and bars. The second is the “Gateway to the Arctic” because for many decades, this city was the heart of Arctic hunting and the starting point for the most legendary expeditions.

Note: To go from/to the airport to the city/from city center we advise you to take a low carbon emission transfer such as, the airport shuttle ”Flybussen” or an electrical car.

Day 2: Dog sledding

Scandinavian breakfast at the hotel. You will depart in the morning (25-minute transfer) for a dog sledding excursion. Harnessed in pairs per sled (one driver, one passenger), you will traverse magnificent landscapes! If conditions do not allow, you will automatically be seated in the sled instead of driving. Warm clothing is provided, and you will have the opportunity to visit the kennel and the young puppies. Afterwards, a Sami meal will be served under a traditional tent, with coffee and homemade cake. Return to Tromsø (transfer included).

Day 3: Aurora Chase in the Lyngen Alps and overnight at Malangen Resort

Breakfast at the hotel and explore Tromsø at leisure. In the late afternoon, departure for a a stay at Malangen Resort in the heart of the Lyngen Alps. There, you will have the chance to go to Camp Nikka, ideally located to observe the Northern Lights! Get your cameras ready! Appropriate clothing will be included.

Day 4: Snowmobile and journey to Sommarøy

Breakfast at Malangen. Then, it is time to explore the arctic wilderness with a guided snowshoe hike! During the hike, open to beginners, you will also learn important skills such as how to make a campfire, recognise the local flora and fauna... Afterwards, return to Tromsø and departure for Sommarøy (transfer included).

Day 5: Discovery of the surrounding nature

Breakfast at the hotel and a free day. If you’re lucky, you might spot wild animals such as sea eagles. You can also add an activity, such as snowshoeing, skiing, or kayaking (not included).

Day 6: Departure from Norway

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer (included) to the airport for your return flight.
