Feeling adventurous for an Arctic trip? After a few days in Tromsø, set off to explore Reisa, an underrated region of Northern Norway! The wild and untouched beauty of the Reisa National park has many adventures to offer to get as close to nature as possible off the beaten track.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tromsø
Arrival at Tromsø Airport. Transfer (not included, can be added) to the centre of Tromsø, the beautiful Arctic capital, and check-in at your hotel. The rich history of this city has earned it two nicknames. The first is the “Paris of the North” due to the numerous trade relations with France during the 19th century and the number of cafes and bars. The second is the “Gateway to the Arctic” because for many decades, this city was the heart of Arctic hunting and the starting point for the most legendary expeditions.

Day 2: Tromsø & Northern Lights chase
Breakfast at the hotel. During this day, ascend by cable car to the top of the mountain overlooking the island of Tromsø. In the late evening, you will then embark on an unforgettable outing chasing the Northern Lights. Your local guide will conduct research before picking you up to pinpoint where to go and optimise your chances of seeing the Auroras. Perched by the Reisa river, one of Norway's best salmon rivers, this remote family-owned lodge is in the heart of Reisa Valley.
In the evening, take part in a guided snowshoe hike throughout white forests and over frozen rivers to the door of Reisa National Park, Ovi Raishiin. With no light pollution and dry highland climate, the area is the perfect place to observe the magical Northern Lights.
