Luleå – Active Stay at Brändön Lodge

Day 1: Arrival in Luleå

Arrive in Swedish Lapland at Luleå airport and transfer to your accommodation at Brändön Lodge. Located around 35 minutes north of Luleå, Brändön Lodge consists of small, individual cottages set by a lake and surrounded by forest. The main building is a traditional cottage and contains the communal areas (lounge & restaurant).

Day 2: Husky safari

Breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will explain how to manoeuvre your sled and the pack of dogs you will have to take care of. Huskies understand directions and are very receptive. Get ready to hit the snowy trails and cross a frozen lake with the help of your dogs.

Day 3: Snowmobile safari

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for your snowmobile safari in between forests and frozen lakes. You’ll discover the wilderness and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of wild animals.

Day 4: Ice fishing tour

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today, you will try to catch your own lunch! Embark in an icy adventure where your guide will teach you how to fish on the frozen sea.  Ice fishing on the frozen sea is an important part of our local lifestyle and for generations has been a way for people to supplement their diet.

Day 5: Snowshoe hike and Northern Lights hunt

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day. At the end of the day, you’ll put on your snowshoes and head out into the surrounding forest. Your experienced guide will explain how to observe the Northern Lights, and if the conditions are right, they will appear in the sky! There will be a break during which participants will learn how to light a fire in the snow, and dinner with hot drinks will be served.

Day 6: Departure from Luleå

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Luleå airport.
